What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is an evidence based practice that uses musical experiences such as singing, creating music, composing and listening to work on your therapy goals. We can work on a variety of goals similar to occupational therapy and speech therapy from developing play skills to learning emotional regulation. Music supports development of goals in a fun and inclusive way.

Who is music therapy for?

Music therapy is for anyone who has an interest in music. Interests can range from listening to music, creating music, or performing among others. Your child does not need to have any prior music experience to participate.

How do we deliver services?

Based in Caulfield North, Melbourne, Bright Beats provides services in homes, childcares, kinders and schools around Melbourne’s inner northern, and southeastern suburbs.

About Laura

When she was younger, hearing about how flexible the brain can be and the different connections made through using music inspired Laura to pursue music therapy. It has sparked her commitment to providing effective music therapy services with compassion and enthusiasm. She has some extra training in Floortime therapy, which helps her provide therapy for your child that is fun, flexible and strengths based.

Collaboration with professionals
