About us.
Laura started Bright Beats with children in mind. Using her background in music therapy and additional training in Floortime therapy, sessions can involve a range of activities from playing with toys to writing songs.
Our approach is child-centered, focusing on each child’s unique strengths, abilities and goals. Through engaging music-based interventions, we help children enhance their communication, emotional expression, social skills, and motor development. We work closely with families to create a collaborative, supportive environment where every child feels valued and understood.
Our Values
Meaningful Connections
We prioritize fostering meaningful relationships with children and families to create a trusting, safe, supportive, and nurturing therapeutic environment.
Unique Approaches
Every child is unique; we tailor our therapies to meet their individual strengths, needs, and goals.
Strengths-based Therapy
We celebrate using each child’s abilities to nurture the development of their skills.
Inclusion and Acceptance
We celebrate diversity and create an environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued.
Creativity
We harness the power of music to inspire growth, self-expression, and joy.

Developmental Delays
Children with developmental delay take longer to achieve their milestones of rolling, smiling, crawling, talking, and walking than other children. They do not fail to develop but each milestone takes longer to develop.
Music therapy can help with development of goals through music and play based activities and can be designed as childcare or home based therapy programs. Bright Beats will also work with childcare professionals and kinder teachers to devise individualised goals and strategies to support your child’s developmental needs.
Learning Disabilities
Many children with learning problems are of normal of above average intelligence but have specific problems that hinder their ability to flourish at school. There are many different types of learning disabilities including dyslexia, non- verbal learning disorder, and auditory processing disorder.
Bright Beats will work with you to identify specific difficulties your child is having. If you have any completed assessments, please bring them along. We will discuss possible causes of the problems and create a plan to support your child in school.
And More
Music therapy is an evidence based practice that can work on a variety of goal areas.
Music therapy can help children with learning disabilities or developmental delays to achieve their goals through 1:1 or group music sessions. Some goal areas include:

- Independence
- Movement/motor skills
- Cognition: such as attention, memory, abstract thinking
Music therapy does not require any prior experience with music!
