An NDIS Approved Allied Health Profession

Music therapy is an evidenced based allied health profession and is an approved support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Your therapist is registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association and will provide evidence-based supports with functional outcomes in line with the NDIS practice standards.
Music therapy has been an approved support under the NDIS since it’s inception. It is included under the Capacity Building-Improved Daily Living category. Music therapy impacts social, behavioural, academic, motor skills and more. Registered music therapists use music to impact the mind and body to provide functional outcomes.
In December 2024, the NDIS announced an independent review of Music Therapy. Changes to funding of Music Therapy through the NDIS will not come into place until the review is complete and the findings have been considered.
